Three Atlanta Kings received player of the week nominations. Elite Players Andrew Lawerence and Nick Garzon and Premier defenseman Aaron Szalankiewicz.
"All the nominees had great showcases," said Coach St. Jacques. "Nick had 5 goals and 4 assists. He is a goal scorer who doesn't need a lot time to get on the board. He has a great release and a deceivingly hard shot. Drew is awesome for us! Not only does he log a lot of minutes but he is contributing offensively as well. Lawerence had 2 goals and 6 assists over the weekend. There's a reason drew is our captain at the elite level he blocks shots and plays hard every night! We know what we're going to get every night with Drew. The final nominee is premier defenseman Aaron Szalankiewicz. Aaron finished the weekend with 2 goals and 5 assists including an overtime winner against the DME Swamp Rabbits. Aaron has been good for us all year a leader on and off the ice for the Kings. We have a solid defense core at the premier level and it's nice that they all contribute offensively!"
Coach Scott Hilton said, "I like who we are as a team, we have a couple new faces in our lineup, and I look forward to exciting things to happen down the stretch. With 12 of our last 14 games on the road we will have our work cut out for us, but I believe these guys are up to the challenge."
The Kings return to the MIC December 29 from Christmas break and have 4 days to get ready for the big Boston Showcase.
